Our Climate, Sustainability and Environmental Management students have formed Sheffield Hallam's first ever Sustainability Society!
This academic society is focused on helping to tackle climate change and promote sustainable living.
The society, which is open to all students from across the university, aims to hold many activities throughout the year, including socials, nature recovery days and guest speakers.
Sheffield Hallam students keen to make a positive impact in combating climate change, or interested in starting a more sustainable lifestyle, can join the society for free by heading to the Student Union sign up page here.
On the day the society become official, President Iris Southwell said; "I started the sustainability society as a way to fight climate change, protect the environment and encourage sustainability. Being a Climate, Sustainability, and Environmental Management Student, I've always had an interest in the environment/earth and climate justice. I believe that we should do our part in protecting it for ourselves and other species that habitat it. Our society is for anyone looking to fight climate change, bring climate justice forward or if you are just interested in looking into how to be more sustainable as even little steps make a big impact!"
You can get in touch with the society by email (sustainabilitysoc.shu@outlook.com) and can follow on instagram @sustainabilityshu.
Together with it's sister society, the GeogSoc, our students are creating an incredible Geography and Environment social community here at Sheffield Hallam!
